Trust
**I found this picture in a box from a long time ago. I had also penned some words down to sort of describe what my picture meant. I wish I had dated either one of them. They had to be probably 5 years ago give or take a little. They are so true. God is so good. So I decided to post them for all of your enjoyment. Please dismiss the fourth grade drawing, that's why I write a blog and don't draw pictures. :)
Penned some time ago:
"There is a beauty in death in Christ because there is no death for the sake of dying, no meaningless agony, instead it is just the opposite much like night and day. If we can embrace the dying the stripping, the heartache, we only end up with much more in the end. We die so we can really live. We undergo deep heart-wrenching pain, we wade through the dark parts of ourselves, willing to own every nasty, broken thing we see in there only to have Jesus take it from us and replace it with beauty. No, He doesn't give us anything back improved or better. He strips us bare to give us a royal robe. There is beauty in the breakdown. There is beauty in broken things, but only if those broken things are placed in His hands. He alone can bring beauty from ashes. He is the only one who makes all things new."
Also, with that picture and penned words, I found a quote by C.S. Lewis that I had written out on a torn piece of paper.
"Have you, I wonder, ever had to do something to a pet dog in order to get it well. something which hurt it very much? Pulled a thorn out of its foot or washed out a wound or anything of that sort? If so you will remember the expression of dumb eloquence in the eyes of the dog as he looked at you; what you were doing hurt him tremendously and yet there seemed to speak from his eyes, such a trust of you as if he would say, "I don't in the least understand what you are doing, what you are doing hurts, but go on with it." from the Discipline of Suffering
What a beautiful thing to find. I am so thankful that God really has woven this into my heart as I look back on my years. He is so trustworthy.
